การเรียง Adjectives (ลําดับคําคุณศัพท์)

Order of adjectives

ในกรณีที่มี Adjective หลายๆตัวมาขยาย Noun เพียงตัวเดียว จะมีวิธีการเรียงลำดับก่อนหลังดังนี้

Possession(ความเป็นเจ้าของ) – my, our, your, her, his, etc.
Determiners(คำบอกจำนวน) – a, an, the, my, your, several, etc.
Ordinal Number(ลำดับที่) – first, second, third, fourth, etc.
Cardinal Number(จำนวนนับ) – two, three, four, five, six, etc.
Observations(ความเห็น) – lovely, boring, stimulating, etc.
Size (ขนาด) – tiny, small, huge, etc.
Shape (รูปร่าง) – round, square, rectangular, etc.
Age (อายุ) – old, new, ancient, etc.
Color (สี) – white, black, pink, etc.
Origin (ที่มา, เชื้อชาติ) – British, American, Mexican , etc.
Materials (วัสดุ) – gold, copper, silk, etc.
Noun Adjunct (คำนามขยาย) – baseball, winter, coffee, etc.

ตัวอย่างเช่น
Lew is one of the first two famous young French basketball in Thailand.

the – determiner
first – ordinal number
two – cardinal number
famous – observation
young – age
French – origin
basketball – noun adjunct
players – นามหลัก

แต่โดยปกติแล้วเราจะไม่ใช้ adjective เกิน3ตัว ในการบรรยายลักษณะสิ่งต่างๆ
