Direct and indirect speech คืออะไร?

Direct speech และ indirect speech คือ การพูดหรือการเล่าเหตุการณ์ ซึ่งมี 2 วิธี คือ การพูดหรือกล่าวโดยตรง ภาษาอังกฤษเรียกว่า Direct speech และอีกแบบคือประโยคที่บุคคลหนึ่งเอาคำพูดของอีกคนหนึ่งมาพูดต่อ หรือเล่าต่อ ภาษาอังกฤษเรียกว่า Indirect speech

Direct speech : He says, “I want to drink water.”
Indirect speech : He says that he want to drink water.

Indirect speech : He said that Tom was playing football.
